What is direct-to-wall printing?
Direct-to-wall printing uses a vertical printer that moves across the wall and applies UV-curable ink directly to the surface. Powerful UV lights cure the ink instantly, so there is no drying time and the space can be used right away.
Because the image is printed onto the wall itself, there are no panels to join, no adhesive to fail and no edges to peel. The printable area is unlimited in height and width, and we print at 300 to 1,200 dpi in CMYK plus white.
Surfaces we print on
Interior or exterior, smooth or textured:
- Painted drywall
- Concrete and concrete block
- Textured stucco
- Brick and stone
- Wood
- Metal
- Plaster
Why businesses choose it over vinyl
Vinyl struggles on texture, tears when it is scraped, fades in sun and moisture, and can damage the paint when it is removed. A direct-to-wall print has no film to peel or seams to lift, and can be painted over with two coats of primer when you are ready for something new.
Questions, answered
How long does a direct-to-wall print take?
Most projects are completed within a few hours. Large murals like SeaWorld's Orca Stadium take a few days.
How long does it take to dry?
It doesn't need to. The UV ink is cured instantly by the printer's UV lights.
How much does it cost?
Every installation is unique, so we quote each job individually based on size, surface and artwork. Logo walls start with wallPrint Express at $1,200 for up to 30 sq ft.
