FAQ

Questions, answered

What is direct-to-wall printing?

A robotic vertical printer travels along your wall and prints UV-curable ink directly onto the surface. UV lights cure the ink instantly, so there is nothing to apply, peel or dry.

How big can you print?

There is no fixed height or width limit. Taller walls are printed in stages, and the practical reach on any site depends on ceiling clearance, floor conditions and access in front of the wall. We confirm this during your site assessment.

What surfaces can you print on?

Painted drywall, concrete and block, textured stucco, brick and stone, wood, metal and plaster. We test a sample on every new surface, and some surfaces need a primer first.

How long does it take to dry?

It doesn't need to. The ink is cured instantly by the printer's UV lights, so the space can be used as soon as we finish.

How long does a project take?

Most projects are completed within a few hours. Large installations, like SeaWorld's Orca Stadium, take several days.

Can you print on dark walls?

Yes. We print white ink as well as color, so artwork stays vibrant on dark surfaces.

What if my wall has outlets, switches or windows?

Every wall is different. Outlets, switches, data jacks, panels and windows are planned into the layout before we print.

What margins do you need?

We leave about 12 inches above the floor (from the top of the baseboard) and below the ceiling (from the bottom of any crown molding), and about 4.5 inches from each adjoining wall.

Is the finished print durable?

The ink is cured into a hard finish that resists everyday scuffs, and because there is no film, there are no edges to peel. Significant damage to the wall itself can still show through, but it won't spread, and touch-ups are straightforward. Exterior work can receive a protective clear coat.

How do I clean it?

Wet wipes, isopropyl alcohol, Simple Green, or mild soap and water.

Can it be removed or changed later?

Yes. When you're ready for something new, two coats of paint or primer cover the print.

Is wallPrint always better than vinyl?

No. Vinyl can be the better choice for temporary or rented spaces, short promotions, or graphics you plan to move. We'll tell you honestly which suits your project.

How much does it cost?

Every installation is unique, so we quote per job based on size, surface and artwork. Logo walls up to 30 sq ft start with wallPrint Express at $1,200.

Do you design the artwork?

Yes. Our team can create artwork from your ideas, or prepare your existing files for print.

Where do you work?

Across Florida, from our showroom at 333 17th Street in Vero Beach.
