This world record vertical wallPrint is located at Orca Stadium in SeaWorld Orlando, FL.

Project Details & Challanges:
Curved Wall
This was a first for the industry of vertical printing. When this job was presented to wallPrint we quickly had to figure out how to create a curve with our very rigid straight track. Not only did we have to overcome the curve but everything that came with it such as printing over itself, speed, and distance. We managed to engineer a few industry leading tools and solutions to overcome these challanges. The results speak for themselves.
Temperature Fluctuations
This wallPrint project was scheduled for February 24' and with it came enviromental challanges such as temp, wind, and direct sunlight. Our temps ranged from the low 40's to the upper 80's. Maintaining proper printing temp is imparative so printing is uniform. During these times we either insulated the print head for heat or opened all the panel doors to allow a cooling airflow.
Wind
This SeaWorld wallPrint is located in the breezway of Orca Stadium. We quickly understood why it was called a breezeway which led us to our next challenge. Our printer performs best around 7mm from the printed surface. Printing this way with a constant draft was problematic as it was blowing the ink away from the wall. Our solution was to created a wind-guard using an innovative material that could withstand the repeated movements while acting as a windblock.
Sunlight
We are in Florida, it is either raining or sunny. We did not get bothered about the rain because the wallPrint is located under a subtantial awning. However, sunlight turned into an issue and stopped our lasers from autodistancing the printhead properly. Our solution was to create a large movable UV blocking wall.
